About This Lesson

The F# or Gb (they are both the same notes) major scales have ALL FIVE black notes.

F# scale notes: F# G# A# B C# D# E#
Gb scale notes: Gb Ab Bb Cb Db Eb F

The Trick:

• The group of two black notes will be played by the pointer and middle fingers on both hands.
• The group of three black notes will be played by the pointer, middle and ring fingers on both hands.
• Any white notes are almost always played by the thumbs.
