One of the biggest steps in learning the piano is to get your hands to “think” on their own. You have to train the muscles in your body to just act. Put in enough time and believe it or not your hands will actually develop a mind of their own. Check it out!
Here is the link to learn the cool lick I show in the video E LICK VIDEO
I’m playing with therapy putty to help strengthen my fingers. You can see my crooked finger and I’m trying to get it back to full strength. Today I’m blogging about the question “What’s the secret to learning something difficult?” This is something that is a pattern to work through.
The answer is to watch tv. Put on a movie. Muscle memory takes time. One blues fingering I’m thinking of takes a lot of time to work out the pattern to move up and down the keyboard. If you are sitting at a keyboard of some kind, just do the pattern over and over while you watch a movie on any device. Get your brain distracted. I did this, and by the end of the movie, I had the pattern down in my muscle memory.
You don’t have to pick a movie. You can read a book or listen to something else. Anything that distracts your brain is going to help your fingers to learn the pattern and do it on its own.
Next time you have a difficult fingering pattern to learn, borrow a movie, a novel, or whatever you need to and give this tip a try.

Hi wade I don’t know what to start with since I joined the website pianochops. Can you help me please.
Hey! Just saw your message. I would recommend going to the lessons tab and then selecting “curriculum”. That will guide you with a few questions to what you want to improve on. You can always message me from the contact page to email me and I’ll help you with whatever you need.
Blessings!
